Files not visible in finder...

Hi all,

I have a strange issue. Files in finder, i.e. clicking on Documents, my user library, another internal drive do not appear in finder, although they are there (I have checked in via command line etc.).

I have tried reseting permissions but this seems to appear again!

Any ideas?

OS X Lion.

It appears to come and go - I have reset permissions on my user folder but it does seem to reappear every so often, especially the downloads folder which I can see in the dock but not when opened in Finder.

Weird.
