Fakesmc with GPU/CPU/HDD detection 2010.06.21 rev 218

Finally the latest fakesmc reads all my sensors including GPU temp + fan-speed without additional DSDT edits.
Just wanted to let you guys know.
I put the FakeSMC.kext and the FakeSMCSuperIO.kext in S/L/E

edit: First I deleted the FakeSMC from Multibeast in E/E

edit2: added FakeSMC (as site requires registration)

The GPU fan changes depending on the load, but the rpm aren't correct, but I'm too busy to try getting it working.

Great news. So both kexts should be installed at S/L/E? What about E/E? Do we need to remove the fakesmc.kext from E/E?

Yes, the old fakesmc.kext needs to be removed. I didn't try putting the 2 files in E/E as they mentioned they had to be located in S/L/E.

When I drop in fakesmc.kxt (new version) I get kernel panic on boot...

Revert to old one from multibeast and everything is fine again...

Do you need both?

Any others seeing this?

I have the new FakeSMC in /E/E and it works fine for me, YMMV!

According to the guy who modified the fakesmc.kext, it should be installed in S/L/E

It works well for me, it reads everythin ok except the GPU temp

i just installed it (in /e/e because i'm a rebel like that) and had no problems. i removed the FakeSMCx3100plugin.kext first since i don't have 3100 graphics. new sensors working: fans, voltages, heatsink and northbridge. hurray!

Have you guys managed to get fan control working with this fakesmc.kext? All the sensors are working but my pwm case fans are pegged at the max which is kind of annoying.

I've tried sorting through that thread and all the DSDT editing nonsense but I couldn't find what I was looking for to get things working on my ga-p55m-ud2 with an ITE8720F controller.

FYI: Using BIOS F11 and the DSDT from the database here for ga-p55m-ud2.
