Hello all,
I just got an AMD Firepro W5100(1002:6649) from ebay. I first tested it on my desktop(Z170 platform). I injected fakeID 0x665c1002 in Clover. The system correctly recognized FirePro W5100 4GB. Then I ran Geekbench and the score looks normal. So I'm 100% sure that the card is compatible with 10.15.
Then I moved it to my workstation(C602 platform) by replacing the old HD7750 1GB. I added the same ID in Clover. But it doesn't work and I lost GPU acceleration. It says FirePro W5100 7MB and still displays 1002:6649 in system information.
In the end I tried to add 0x66491002 to AMD8000Controller.kext and AMDRadeon4000.kext but it's even worse. After the boot progress bar I got a black screen. I had to switch back to HD7750 to recover this.
I just don't understand why it behaves so strangely on different motherboards. Is there any setup in C602 that prevents Clover from injecting the fakeID?
Thanks in advance!
