External Audio Interface

I have been using Focusrite Saffire PRO 14 for years on my iMAC via Firewire.
Now, I don't have FW port on my Gigabyte Z390 Aorus ULTRA mobo, so I wonder would it be better to buy PCI card with Firewire ports, or to switch to USB (3.0 or 3.1) audio interface ( which means I need to buy new one). Thanks.

I guess it depends. it would be BETTER to upgrade your interface, but you can get a firewire card for next to nothing. I know sometimes firewire interfaces can be finicky, so do a little research on what firewire chipset works best with your interface, but you really don't have much to lose. PCI firewire cards are less than 20 bucks on eBay and macOS should recognize it out of the box.
