I upgraded about an hour ago and my hard drive has almost constantly been active and therefore CPU temps have been 7-10C higher than 10.6.8...and this is when idling...is there file caching or something that goes on with this upgrade?

Still having it? Spotlight reindexing perhaps. Try using disk utility to repair the permissions and the drive

I just clicked on Spotlight and noticed it has 3 hours of indexing to do! That must be it...

The excessive hard drive activity is gone but idle temps are 3-5C higher than SL...I have a backup of my 10.6.8 SL installation and when I boot into that I am 3-5C lower...

Anyone seeing this? Anything I can check for?

I'm having the same issue!

Check your BIOS on boot to see what temperatures it is reading. It's possible that fakeSMC and the plugins are simply not reading correctly with Lion. It was honestly all wishy washy to start anyways.

Yeah I've noticed the same on my system. 3-10C warmer than usual depending on what I'm doing. I thought I was the only one, but I guess not. Although in BIOS temps do seem cooler.
