I installed 10.9 on an OC force board. Running two 780s with an i7-4770k processor and 32 gigs of ram. I had a effortless install. Just loaded optimized defaults into the bios and the everything went perfect. I followed WildWillow's multi beast setting to the letter and haven't had an issue except some programs will run for a while and then return the following error :EXC_BAD_ACCESS and under that will be Kernel_Protection_Failure.

What the hell does all this mean? here is an example of the error. I have gotten this with Microsoft word (however I can bypass it by clicking on a .docx file rather than opening the program) and on DOTA and CIV 5.

I have a SSD drive with my OS on it and my User file was moved to a different HDD but I have the path way set up so that it knows to look there for the program files. I don't know if this could be the problem though.

Ok I think I may have figured it out. I bought G skill 1866 (14900) ram. The motherboard had the default at 1333mhz which i turned up to 1800. I turned it back down and it seems to be working. Though Microsoft word is still acting up. What speed should my ram be at then? surely this board can support more than 1333!?

Hi, could you tell me if you have made any progress toward solving that problem?

I am having exactly the same issue, and we have very similar rig. I have the Gigabyte z87OC, GTX 780 (just one), G.SKILL RAM (16gb) and i7-4770k. My mac os is also installed on a SSD. However, my ram is actually supposed to be 1600, but I turned it down like you did, and it solves some of the problem.

One thing was that I didn't have this problem until I installed my GTX 780. Another thing was that I notice the very first time I booted into Mavericks after installation, MS Word would actually work, but stops working after I set up Multibeast.

If you have solved the problem, I would be grateful to know what you did.

sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -force

repair permissions / ensure your permissions are correct /you might even remove .acl files in your library

then reboot

this was happening constantly, updating the dyld cache seemed to make these crashes less frequent. I still get them, but far less frequently with far less apps - like once a week maybe for like one app. Updating your apps to versions designed to work with with mavericks seems to really help.
