yes, but that all depends on handbrake settings ofc
but interesting in results is that going x265 with gpu would be probably 3-4 times faster than cpu, which is a lot of time saved

using fcpx>handbrake(cpu) workflow results in better overall quality at smaller sizes than just straight fcpx exports (using gpu).

How are you exporting from FCPX > Handbrake. That is, what is your FCPX output that you feed into handbrake ?

i wish there was some "magic" way, guess your looking for it too

as i use it only for previews for coworkers, i have fcpx (compressor) 720p Prores LT preset which outputs a file which i run through HB with constant quality profile. Many times it takes the same amount of time as going straight out of fcpx to h264 (which i beleive is 2-pass)

when i do masters for youtube i use Prores type dependant on the source footage and HB constant quality set to 16.
