You may try to change model in smbios. In my case:
imac 12.1 all work
imac 13.1 and 13.2 some of them work
imac 14.1 and 14.2 all of them work.

Yes- this is recommended for 7, 8, or 9 series motherboards.

Wow you can do these patches without patching a DSDT? back when i first upgraded to 10.11 i did all the patching via my DSDT no injector kexts etc.
