Hey guys,

I have the following hardware:

Gigabyte GA-Z170N-WIFI Motherboard
Sapphire Radeon R9 380 Nitro Dual-X 4GB
Intel Core i5 6600K
Silverstone SOD02 Slim DVDRW Optical Drive
Samsung 850 EVO Series M.2 250GB SSD
SilverStone SX600-G SFX Modular 600W Power Supply
Corsair DDR4 2400MHz 16GB 2x288DIMM

Now i'd like to install El Capitan on my pc and i know installing on a Z170 is a pain in the ass but is there a way to make it work on my system?
I've had osx working on a pc before but that was with a z97 chipset.

Anyone who can point me in the right direction? Where do i start?
Thanks in advance.

Start at the El Capitan install guide and Skylake test thread. There's a wealth of information to getting OS X installed. Post install and fixing issues takes digging around for your specific hardware.

There's also this guide for the GA-H170N-WIFI. I'd still recommend reading the thread to understand what's going on with the 100 series compatibility. I just got my first Hackintosh mostly running and the test thread was invaluable.

Thanks.
I'll give it a go.

When i boot using verbose i get stuck on the following screen.

What is the next thing i can try to do?
I Also tried safemode but i doesn't get me any further.

If you boot in verbose (not safe) mode and wait a while (maybe a minute or two) do you get the prohibited sign and/or the "Still waiting for root device" message?

In general, you may be able to just use the H170N-WIFI guide -- the boards are probably close enough.

Hey mrkwkns!
Did you ever get your config working? I'm interested in the board as well.
I'd imagine you are having problems with the graphics card though.

Hello,

You shoud try to boot with the install key on another USB port...

Is anyone how made this kind of mainboard to work with El Capitan. I try and is not working and also is recommended to buy.

After this DSMOS has arrived, the PC reboots. Any ideas?

Hi
I have tried and tried the last 14days, read pages and pages for both the GA-Z170N-wifi and the GA-H170N-wifi, BIOS look over and over again, clean unibeast boot, adjusted settings in clover configurator, started with only on-board graphic, started with Gigabyte nvidia 7500ti, tested all the usb ports, made new usb stick and tried it all over again.

Still only get the stop sign - and the verbose text (se pictures):

What are I missing here?
Tell me its a minor detail or 1000 steps to fix this as I am close to dream about a new iMac. No, not yet:)

Config:

old Seagate 1tb 7200rpm disk (test disk)
Corsair VS550 power supply
