EBIOS read error

Try using a different dvd drive. I was having the same problem, swapped out the drive last night, and it booted up no problem.

Cheers.

I have been having this problem and after reading this thread I realized the cause of the problem cam be more than just a media card. I have a 2TB WD MyBook plugged into my computer for back ups. I found that turning off this drive while booting up will get rid of the EBIOS read error.

Hope that helps.

any kind of damaged memory card or harddrive makes this in the boot. try to boot with system hard drive first.

Sorry for taking out this old thread. I have the same problem.

Did you configure the SATA controller in AHCI mode?

But where do I chose the AHCI mode?

My bios doesn't give me this choice.

Thank you for your help!
