I found 2 articles of note this morning, detailing some of Intel's plans for late 2014, early 2015.

First some specifications for Haswell refresh CPUs and 9-series motherboards courtesy of CPU world. Four refreshed Haswell architecture desktop CPUs will be released sometime next fall: Core i5-4460, i5-4590, i5-4690, and Core i7-4790.

Next Intel's next Extreme CPUs, a Socket 2011 refresh due in late 2014 as well. The new refreshed Socket 2011 "X99" chipset will be the successor to Ivy Bridge-E/EP. The LGA 2011-3 socket will be incompatible with current motherboards. Techpowerup posted a leaked picture of the engineering sample of the i7 here:

Info like this is always subject to change, but interesting nonetheless.

Only change i see to the socket 1150 CPU's is a whole 100mhz more..

Maybe tdp changes....?

Die shrink will happen with Broadwell ... Intel's tick-tock

It'll need to put out some great benchmarks to make it worth me dropping my 2600K. We're already through Sandy (tock) Ivy and into Haswell and three years later I still don't see any great leap forward that makes it worth upgrading. A little faster, PCIe 3.0 and lower power requirements just isn't going to budge me off the 2600K, so we'll see what 2014/15 brings.
