Drive scan every 10 minutes

I mount the drive in Parallels which runs all the time, no drive scan every 45 seconds.

I used method uncheck "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible" and i s\can tell "so far so good". I use LG BD Rewriter...and its all right now...

Damn. I'm starting to think that this is an issue that can only be fixed with a firmware update. I've searched and searched, and I can't find the source of the issue in OSX.

Firmware update does nothing to the system's polling the drive. At least, mine didn't.

I meant that a firmware fix might change how the drive behaves to being polled.

What I can't seem to track down with this issue is where the command is actually coming from and what the actual command is. Changing the integer in the disk spindown file changes the polling interval. But, where is the polling command?

OWC says my LG Blu-ray drive is compatible with mac pro 4,1 and 5,1. I can't get those definitions to work on my build (I get a kernel panic at boot). I wish I could to test it out and see if the polling stops and sleep works. Any thoughts/suggestions?
