I hate that the green button makes apps full-screen. I want it to work as the maximise button of Windows does. So I have been using a utility called SizeWell.

SizeWell says it will not work from El Capitan due to SIP. I have a real Macbook running El Capitan. On the Macbook, SizeWell works on some windows and does not work on some windows. For example, it does NOT work with Safari or Dictionary.

I installed it on my hackintosh El Capitan, and it worked with Safari (but not with Dictionary). What gives? Why does SizeWell work on Safari on hackintosh when it does not on Macbook? Does Uni/Multibeast disable SIP? I searched the web for a method to verify SIP is enabled. I ran "ls -lO /System /usr". But it all showed "restricted".

Clover bootloader can disable SIP partially or completely

You can use the csrutil command to report on SIP’s current status.
