Hi guys!!

My GPU, a XFX nvidia Ge 9500 died in one of the cpus of my recording studio. I'm trying to replace it but cannot find another 9500 series. Just the 520, 610, 430 or 210.

I tried first with an Ati XFX 6450 since that worked for me in another computer, but I could not enable the full acceleration with the ati6000 kext, no front row or even a picture. I thought maybe with an Nvidia would work, but wrong again. I went for a silent asus 520 but this one seems not to have support under SL. Is it wright? I can enter into the desktop but the same resolution issue.

I was reading and reading, trying to find a solution beacause I need this machine to work on friday :S, but could not find one. I read that nvidia offered some drivers V.3.10 that could work but it did not change the resolution. Is there a solution or should I get a more compatible one. But wich one? all the models that should be compatible are almosto gone and I couldn't find a post with a succesfull one. Can anyone suggest me one?

Thanks!!!
Eric

Protooler

No the 520 is not supported to my knowledge

Users have reported success w the nVidia Gt 210 and Gt 220

Suggest you look at these sites for some info

this is a link on the nVidia Device ID s:
" I compiled this list of what NVIDIA GPUs are supported in Snow Leopard 10.6.1 according to kexts, I think it could be useful to know what is supported and what is not. It doesnt mean it should work, it just means their device ids are recognized by the kexts, so with a proper injector method (kext, efi string, dsdt, chameleon) it may work."

I also have a UTube video on the 210 - Graphics - nVidia GeForce 210 now fully working, followed instructions from this video
