does iMessage require iPhone?

can I use message with only mackintosh and no iPhone
cuz I tried every thing and nothing worked

An iPhone is not required. Google fix iMessage, there are a number of ****** posts that list the step by step process, it's involved, but possible, I did it recently and it works.

I made sure that ethernet is configured right and the config.plist is too
I ll try again later but I just wasted more than 5 hours trying to get it to work

I followed this guide and got it working, see if it works for you. One of the keys is to generate a serial number that is not already in use.
