Speaking of Square-Enix... FFXIII in a week! :D

Ok... getting back on topic...

It's so much easier to do everything from a simple task to large, complex processes on a Mac as compared to a Windows machine (can't say about linux; only ever used Ubuntu and that was briefly just for fun). Everything in Windows seems so ass-backwards to me that avoid using it. I wish that Apple would make a mid priced Mac Pro - you definitely get what you pay for, but it's definitely hits the wallet hard.

Late 06 iMac 20"
MacMini Core Duo
Macbook Air

Ipod 80 GB
Ipod Touch
iPhone 1st Gen
iPhone 3g 16GB
Time Capsule 1GB

I guess that is all of my Apple stuff.

Only Mac I've ever owned was a Mac 660 AV that I bought in 1993
Used a PowerBook 180C at work in the mid 1990s
Just bought a PowerBook 180C on eBay for laughs. It works!
I've had an iPhone 3G for almost two years and a 2nd generation iPod nano
Purchased three MacBooks/MacBook Pros over the years for my kids in college.

Yeah, I'm old... :shh: ;)

About to buy my mother an iPad

Apple stuff I own:
- iPod Nano 4G 16GB
- iPod Nano 4G 8GB
- Apple MacBook Pro 2008 Edition (Core 2 Duo 2.5GHz, 4GB RAM, 200GB 7200RPM HDD)
- 1983 Apple //e + 2xFDD + Joystick //e & paddles + Apple Monitor (all in working conditions !)

Over the years, also used (but didn't own) the Apple ][, Lisa, Mac 128K, and Mac Plus.

Does anybody remember the Apple ][ Night Driver ? Talk about old ;) :silent:

1985: original mac - 128KB RAM, 3.5" floppy, mac paint, multiplan, mac pascal

2005: ibook G4 12.1", powerbook g4 17" 1.67GHz, power mac G5 dual 2.7GHz

2010: i5-750 hackintosh

If anybody wants a list, I can provide a long(ish) one of 7 macs. I got all save one for free. Only about 5 of them work well, one (PowerBook G4 Ti DVI 1GHz) gets Kernel Panics every time a certain memory address gets (written? replaced? read?) (Lost an entire FRQ essay I was writing for an AP US History class once...). No idea which memory address though. Another one (a 7500) needs to have its graphics reset, then it will work fine. All of the rest work great (Including the Jedi! (PowerBook 150), that is 15 years old!)

(Had) Performa 6200CD - (knocked out the power supply accidentally this winter, so recycled it)
PowerMac G3, 266 MHz?
PowerMac 7600/132, Upgraded to G3
iMac, 350 MHz G3
iMac, 400 MHz G3 (Reboots when you tell it to shut down)
iBook, 600 MHz G3, 12" (display doesn't like to stay backlit)
Macbook, Rev A (Core Duo 2GHz), 260 GB Hd, 2GB ram
iPod, 5g, 30 GB (bricked, i fell in a brook with it)

Well, since were reminiscing, here goes:
(Not sure on the order of the ancient stuff, grin)

--: Atari 400
--: Timex Sinclair 1000 w/ 16kb RAM Upgrade
--: Commodore Vic 20 w/ Tape Drive
--: Atari 520ST
--: Amiga 500
PC: XT (Homebrew)
PC: AT (Homebrew)
PC: 386 (Homebrew)
PC: 486 (Homebrew)
Mac: IIx
Mac: IIcx
Mac: Performa 600
Mac: Powerbook Duo 230 w/ Duo Dock II
Mac: Quadra 840AV
PC: AMD Duron 600 (Homebrew)
Mac: Powerbook 400 G4
Mac: QuickSilver Dual 1.25Ghz G4
Mac: Mini 1.25GHz G4
Mac: iMac 20" 2.0GHz Intel C2D
Mac: iMac 24" 2.4GHz Intel C2D
Mac: Mini 2GHz Intel C2D
PC: Hackintosh 3.50GHz i7-930

Wow, now THAT brought back some memories! Might be a few I forgot, but think that's pretty close.

Anyways, the last Mac was a 2GHz Mini up until a week before building my current setup. So far, the Hack wins hands down for price vs. performance. The stability is great. the only thing I'm really missing is to get the Apple Remote working somehow and get Digital Out working on my MB.

I still love Mac's, but have to say, when $1000 gets you the performance of a $4300 MacPro, it's hard to say no. Especially in this economy.

Now the only thing Apple I own is OSX, Apple Keyboard & Apple Remote (which I can't use, yet).
