Do you need Iworks or just SL?

I went to my local Apple store trying to buy SL and they asked what i had and i said PC and then they were like HACKINTOSH(shunned) and then they said i had to get Iworks. what is the truth?

Well, at least they didn't call security you might want to be a bit more circumspect next time you visit the Apple store.

You don't need iWork.....end of story.

iWork is an office suite, personally I have abandoned MS Office (never used iWork) for LibreOffice (free open source) and will never go back.

Snow Leopard comes with most of the applications you will need to get started and you can always compare the iLife applications or iWork ones to what is available as free open source...
