With Chimera 1.4, and only FakeSMC in Extra, I can't find any different with or without DSDT in Extra, I'm confused, do we still need DSDT?
Do we still need DSDT with Chimera 1.4?

I would like an answer to this as well. I am using a dsdt right now, and I will continue using it because my system is working well enough, but I never really understood the whole need for it. When it first popped up about two years ago it looked so complicated I just ignored the whole thing. My systems always seemed to work, but their was always talk of injectors and using the dsdt to replace the need for modified kexts and such. I never really did find a good answer. That said, I have used one in my last three builds and never really questioned why.
