Do I need Nvidia Drivers?

Running an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 with 2MB of RAM. Never had a problem with the native detection and use of the card. What benefit(s) do I obtain from installing the Nvidia drivers? Speed?

GTX 760 have native driver support from Yosemite, it does not required the web drivers.

A lot of people had a problem with their cards not throttling down after using certain apps. Might be an opencl issue. Nvidia web driver fixed this for me. Stock drivers would just lock me in at the base clock until reboot. Not a huge deal, but it keeps cooler with Nvidia drivers.
