I have a Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and on my system preference. The Display option is missing. Can anyone could help please. Thank you!

I've been in video hell with a bad EVGA GeForce GT 240 Superclocked 512MB graphics card. While I was stuck in one mode and got a lot of blue screens, I did always have the Display pref. pane. I think you need to re-install OSX. Something didn't get copied to your hard drive.
