Hey,

after installing mavericks I always get notifications about my external drive (Seagate "Expansion Portable Drive", USB2) not having been ejected properly when I wake from sleep.
It doesn't really matter which USB port I use, the notification stays the same.

There seems to be a fix for normal Macs which is resetting the SMC, as described here — is there anything similar that can be done on a hackintosh? I don't want to lose all of my data just because Time Machine happens to write when I feel like putting the desktop to sleep.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

anyone find a solution to this?

What worked for me, and my GA-Z77X-UP5-TH, was to disable this bios setting: MIT-Advanced Frequency Settings > Advanced CPU Core Features > Internal CPU PLL Overvoltage

Doing so also fixed issue where my usb mac keyboard wasn't working after resuming from sleep
unless i unplugged it + replugged it. Disabling that motherboard setting fixed both issues.
