Desktop reverts to default after restart - how to force creation of Desktop.plist?

Hi all,

Hoping someone knows a quick terminal command for creating a new com.apple.desktop.plist preferences file? I am assuming the lack of such a file is casuing the problem (desktop reverting to default on restart) as I do not seemto have this file present and all tips I have found suggest erasing the current one in order for a new one to be created. Or is this something Clover can deal with via congigurator/efi?
