Ok It sounds like no one "knows" why laptop freezes.. I can live with it

I have the same issue as you.
Everything freezes completely every minute or so, for about 2-3 seconds. I have no idea of what it is...

Every minute or so....hmmm. It sounds like it's polling something - Have you tried turning off wifi and seeing if it still does it. If not that, perhaps Bluetooth.

Using the console app/utility

click on under the first thing "system log queries" - display "all messages"
and look for info as to when your machine locks up/freezes
and check to see if there are some error messages.

Hi there - could hou provide a little more detail on how to do this? I have a

i7 4770k
GA-Z87MX-D3H
GTX 670

and just upgraded to 10.9.2

now iTunes crashes within seconds of opening.

Looks like it is trying to send Genius info on my library to apple, and then falls over.

major bummer, any help appreciated!

Hey,
I couldn't catch up with the system log messages because since I reinstalled the DSDTs (from the pro book installer) the problem was gone. even though I had the same settings before the hang ups.
Thank you.

Mine was freezing forever, like you had to do a hard reset to get it work again, but its gone after I reinstalled the dsdt files (specially system definition) I also used the repair disk permission (disk utility) and rebuilt the caches using the kext wizard. maybe you should try to repair disk permissions and "rebuild cache" with kext wizard?

good luck

Hey,
These steps helped me:
If you face desktop freeze do these steps:
Make sure you repair permissions & rebuild cache:
- Disk Utility: repair permissions
- Reboot "-f"
- Terminal: 'sudo rm -Rf /System/Library/caches/com.apple.kext.caches'
- Kext Wizard: rebuild cache (or Terminal: 'sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions')
- Shutdown
- EC reset
- Start normally

Also, if you ever boot from the USB, make sure you do EC reset after. Or customize your USB such that it has current VoodooPS2 drivers.

I took this from the moderator (Rehabman)..
Good luck :)

Hey, i have a similar build and experienced the same problems after updating: freezing every minute. The problem got worse when i tried to reinstall my Multibeast settings and the system freezed during the installation and now i get this (frozen) screen after reboot.

I also tried safe mode, no more progress. What can i do now? I made a backup with Carbon Copy Cloner before updating...
