No mention of remove.
2. "Install one method (A or B); remove installed method before installing another method."
Refers only to Method A or Method B, neither Method mentions AppleHDA or AppleALC. HDMI audio is not possible when A and B are installed together.
It does. Sentence 1 makes clear both are required for audio with non native audio codecs.I thought AppleHDA came with the OSX installation? that is why I wanted to remove it to be able to try AppleALC.
There is no reason to remove any installed native macOS kext.
