USB keyboard and PS2 keyboard are handled by completely different driver code. So this is not a driver issue. Some sort of issue with the input system in general, or a problem caused in the input system by the ps2 driver?
Try removing the ps2 drivers from the USB. You will find them in /Extra/Extensions on the USB. ApplePS2Controller.kext and AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext. Use a USB keyboard/mouse for the install.
I tried removing both of those as you suggested with still the same issue. I may just try poping out the mSATA drive and hooking it up to my other mac to move the file. I didn't really want to have to do it but it may be my only option at this point. My main concern is that it will behave this way when I get booted off of the internal drive and I wont be able to create a username easily to be able to use MulitBeast to get other drivers installed.
Can you think of any other suggestions?
