Specs:
Intel Pentium T3200 2.0Ghz CPU
4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 RAM
250GB Hitachi Hard Drive
Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset (with GM965/X3100 video)
BIOS A06, latest available
I used the OSx86 modCD (iBoot gave me black screen issue) to successfully install Mac OS 10.6.0 from my retail CD. However, on first boot, it played the music and voiceover prompt, but my screen is black with no backlight. If i let it sit long enough to "sleep" then wake it up, the screen turns on, but it's white with fading color lines on a grayish background (like a broken screen.)
I looked into the issue and tried to boot with:
PCIRootUID=0 (and =1), no change
GraphicsEnabler=Yes (and =No), no change
-x, no video, no sound, no nothing after Apple loading logo
So I tried a suggestion to delete AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext (which I did in single user mode) and boot with arch=i386 which also resulted in the same black screen. Booting in normal 64bit mode netted the same result. Booting verbose doesn't show any errors that stand out to me related to video output.
I am out of ideas to get the graphics to work on this thing as all the solutions I've seen so far have been a bust.
