Date appears to be wrong in mail

Hi guys, I could not find anythig related to my problem, which is the following: when I open "Mail" my e-mails are downloaded correctly and also displayed correctly. However the date beside the e-mail is always the same - 05/01/12. On the desktop the date is displayed correctly but when I go into System preferences/Date and time, I can not make any changes. Is this a common problem? Is there any known fix? Please let me know!

O.K. guys, I thing it`s solved. Thinkering with the formats and languages as well as few restarts seems to helped.
