CustoMac mATX build case recommendation for sound proofing and question about Thunderbolt MB

I am going to be building the March 2014 CustoMac mATX tonymac build. I am not going to add a graphics card or extra cpu cooler since I won't be overclocking for the time being.

Since I am going to be using this for some music production with the computer in the same room, is this machine going to get loud?

Would I better off getting a more sound proofed case like the Fractal design R4 or some other silent case (recommendations welcome).

I was considering getting one of the Gigabyte MBs with onboard Thunderbolt, it was unclear to me searching previous threads if that was completely stable/usable. Any thoughts?
