Just curious

I have a hackintosh running 10.14.6 on a EVGA X299 Micro, i7-9800X cpu, 128 GB ram, 4 TB 7200 HGST HD, EVGA 710 2 GB GPU, all running fine. No Issues.

I bought a samsung 970 4 TB drive. Problems. Format then plug drive in after format with Sabrent - SATA to USB Adapter . Drive reported needing intializing again. Returned drive.

Got a Crucial MX500 4 tb (cheaper price than samsung) same issue, attributed it to the sabrent adapter, but when plugging back in with SATA the system sees the drive again.

Format the drive as APFS. Clone with super duper. install clover. All fine.

Computer now freezes after a certain point in time while working. I use this computer as a sound farm for audio, so I'm not watching it actively when it freezes. After the freeze it restarted the first time. Now just freezes.

I have a Western Digital 2 TB 750 NVMe installed as well (not system)

Trim is not on.

As a test I left the computer on all night. I woke up. It was still running but the Screen saver had kicked in. When I tried to wake, the computer froze. I do not have this issue with my other hackintosh or with any other HD, SSD or NVMe ever. This is the first 4 TB SSD I've installed.

Then installed NMVe fix and latest Lilu. Solved the sleep issue. But after a few hours the desktop turns black and everything freezes. My guess is the drive can't be accessed any long.

Have you heard about this? Any work arounds?

Other SSD's are not showing this problem. This is the first 4 TB I've tried.

Again this is a 2.5" SSD not a NVME SSD

Thanks in advance.
