hi

I just finished my first build and everything works quite good but my cpu performance is not acceptable.
when i compare the scores from cinebench, prime and xbench on osx and win7 i get only about 25% performance.

my system is:
core i3 530 (at 3520mhz)
Asus mainboard p7h55-m
gskill ram 1600 4gb
xfx 5770 1gb ram
samsung 1tb hdd
osx 10.6.4

i followed this guide but adapted the installation because i have different sound and network chip on my mainboard.

if you need further information just ask for it.

does anyone have an idea why the benchmark results are so different between osx and windows?

Thomas,
Check out my blog...

I posted about the "optimal BIOS settings"...
You probably just modified AHCI, HPET, and Profile1 for XMP (this is what causes the slowdown, unless you enable the other features)...

Good Luck,

Thanks Lnx2Mac

The problem was really the xmp profile. I just switched back to standard cpu frequency and got full performance back.

I tried to use the tipps for the optimal bios settings but the bois settings on my asus mainboard is too different, i cant just use your settings.

Hopefully my post can give you ideas of what to try...
Basically, try not to leave anything on Auto... Either Enable or Disable.

Good Luck and Happy hunting ;)

Have you create a "smbios.plist" file ?
If "yes" what is your choice for identification ?
PowerMac3.1
PowerMac4.1
iMac 7.1
etc..

change it, reboot, try benchmark software.

My first Hackintosh with GA-EP45-DS3L with little E1400@2Ghz
Geekbench - with PowerMac 3.1 : 1880
- with iMac7.1 : 2890
?
Why ?
I don't know.
