I built the mac pro build exactly as it says in the buyers guide. Read in a couple of places that the corsair h100i water cooler fits.

The heatsink on the motherboard seems to get in the way and i cannot install it.

Would anyone reccomend an alternative water cooler that will fit or a change of motherboard that will fit?

Really? Are you installing it on top like this? : http://www.overclock.net/t/1119694/...-300r-400r-500r-owners-club/690#post_15720107

Yes :( No matter what i try it wont line up with the screw mounts on top. The fans on the radiator are catching the heatsinks on motherboard

So I just read some posts on that, apparently a lot of people are having this issue, although some say it mounts fine, even tho it looks like it won't. You can always install it outside the case like this: http://imgur.com/BjC8v, but maybe you got unlucky with the MOBO.

Is there a guide to installing it on the outside like that?

Im new to water cooling so wouldn't want to try and fit it and end up breaking it.

Would you reccomend this or the water cooling if i can fit it like you said?

I haven't seen a guide but I'm sure there are some. A google search should take care of that. I heard the h100 performs great, but also that hydro systems like that can be a bit noisy under pressure. More noisy than the Noctua nh-d14, which is pretty silent for an air cooler. Which is why bought it and I love it. My idle temps are about 24 degrees C, and about 55 under heavy load with i5-3570k @ stock speed. You need Low Profile RAM tho for most brands, because the heatsink on the nh-d14 is huge. Normal Vengeance RAMs are too big.
