I've been using RehabMan's fork of FakeSMC, the monitoring plug-ins, and the HWMonitor.app (which is forked from kozlek's branch). The version number on HWMonitor.app is currently 6.26.1440, and the FakeSMC.kext version corresponds, at least the major numbers (it's currently at 6.26-322-g1b20eab7.1765). But the sensors stopped working for me. So I went in search of a solution.

What I found has me really confused: HWSensors3 (repository at https://sourceforge.net/projects/hwsensors3.hwsensors.p/), which says it's a HWSensors branch based on FakeSMC-3.x. :?:o_O:!: That's what has me confused. Can anyone explain the versioning discrepancy? And can you reassure me that my system will boot if I replace my current FakeSMC.kext (the RehabMan version) with this newer one (which is versioned 3.5.0)?

My FakeSMC is based on the kozlek fork.
Sensors still work if properly installed.

That is slice's fork.

question re: FakeSMC_GPUSensors.kext - while booting i see "unknown chip id 0x67ff" when trying to configure the sensors on my graphics card. reading the source at https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-FakeSMC-kozlek/tree/master/GPUSensors/RadeonSensors it does seem that 0x67ff is not defined anywhere. according to System Information and IORegistryExplorer, this is the correct PCI ID for the Radeon RX560.

googling that ID shows that it's apparently represented in HWSensors3.

is it just that FakeSMC_GPUSensors has not been updated for newer radeon cards?

thanks
