Confirmed Audio Interfaces (Hobbyist/Pro-sumer/Pro) & Drivers - Mac OS X

I use an Alesis iO2 Express. Works natively with Core Audio over USB and haven't had any issues using it OOB (no patching of AppleHDA necessary) in Logic, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, etc.

Native Instruments - Traktor Audio 2 works just fine with OS X

Note: Traktor Pro 2 and Scratch 2 version 2.8.1 only works with OS X Mountain Lion, Yosemite

I have the USB audio Interface RME FIREFACE UCX, with Fireface USB Settings v2.05 and TotalMix FX v1.08 MAC OS X.
It works with PT HD 11.3.1, no problem observed.

Just built Z97x UD5H hack and got everything working except the Scarlett 18i20. Mixcontrol says that it's connected and for once i got sound out of it, only for a few seconds, after the restart, then it dropped off. I can select Scarlett in any audio playback device but no sound and nothing going on in mix control. Any ideas?

Edirol FA-66 works with my hackintosh using Startech FireWire Adapter with LSI/Agere FW643 chipset (the one mentioned here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/buying-advice/59767-firewire-800-400-card-own-100-compatibility.html). No latency issues.

Two minor problems, however:

-The audio interface has to be plugged and powered during boot or OS X won't recognize it. If I turn the interface off for any reason, it won't show again in OS X when I turn it on again unless I restart my computer.

-Sometimes (about 25% of the time) I get a kernel panic if I start my computer with the audio interface on. This happens at the very start of OS X boot, at barely two pixels of the progress bar filled. If it gets too annoying, the audio interface can be powered in the middle of the boot. As long as it is done before booting is complete, the first problem will be avoided.

how did you managed to get it working, did you disable uefi? as far i have read all the firewire 800 related threads, you're the first person who confirms that chip works with z97 board at all. or did you wrote this when using something else than uefi board?

btw my macbook pro 8,1 does exactly same thing with LSI FW643 chip, i must start a interface first (happens with both m-audio, uad). seems that this behaviour is related to that specific chip.

Here i can say that the Apogee One works like a charm with El capitan on my computer. It is a few months old and I didn't have any more problems than 2 or 3 bugs when updating to 10.11.2 or changing profile without logging out. And each time a reboot fixed it for me!
