Computer cannot reconnect to the internet

Hi, I just got mountain lion 10.8.3 on my computer, the internet works perfectly through ethernet connection but once i remove the ethernet from router and connect it again it won't connect to the internet even though it recognises ethernet is connect, same thing happens when i reboot my router.
I currently have RealtekRTL81xx kext which enabled my computer's internet connectivity and was wondering what I could do to fix this problem as it can get annoying at times

There are a number of different Realtek drivers. One of the better ones (if it works with your hardware) is Mieze's: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/287161-new-driver-for-realtek-rtl8111/

Make sure you remove any previously installed Realtek kext before trying it.
