The CPU will work with the motherboard and personally I see no reason why such a combination would not work. Are you going to use the CPU graphics or are you going to use a graphics card?
We know that Kaby Lake CPUs and Kaby Lake motherboards will work together under MacOS Sierra 10.12.6, and we also know that Kaby Lake CPUs and Skylake (6th generation) motherboards will also work together under MacOS Sierra. We also know that Skylake CPUs and Skylake motherboards will work under El Capitan and Sierra.
Admittedly I have not tried myself as I do not have such a hardware combination. Since you already have it, why don't you try to install MacOS Sierra on it and report back your progress to us?
I will do it!!! I hope It working.
I bought all component of "Buyer's Guide June 2017", but the motherboard z170x hadn't stock, so I had to buy the next generation.
Thanks for all!!!
