Hi
I have succesfully installed Lion on a CustoMac mini 2011 (as per the thread of this site). Installed was done on an old 160Gb Seagate and I now wanted to move it on a brand new 2Tb Seagate ST2000DL003-9VT166.

To make this move quickly, I wanted to clone the boot partition: I have connected the new drive and made a clone of boot partition with CCC tool, then installed latest Chimera on my new disk and tried to reboot but I got KP.

I tried again with -v -f with same result (KP).

Thus I reinstalled from scratch on the new drive and it worked. So I have 2 questions:
1/ why I cannot succesfully clone a bootable partition with CCC?
2/ installed on the 2Tb disk, the disk tool has force the boot partition to be 150Gb minimal size: is this normal ?

Thanks

Is the new drive with the correct GUID partition?

This worked for my clone:
-clone to new drive
-boot from unibeast USB stick
-select new drive
-install chimera with multibeast
-reboot

I've cloned my hack#2 to my hack#1 machine using SuperDuper.... both hacks even have a very different set of hardware. Some kext deletion done after cloning, kexts that don't apply to the new hardware.

My steps:
clone Hard drive
delete kexts I don't need
Bring hard drive to new machine
Boot using rboot CD
Run multibeast
Install chimera
reboot
