Clean install necessary?

That's the first Intel Mac Pro from 8/2006, yes?

Assemble new build. Download MultiBeast, DSDT for new build. Download rBoot (not iBoot) and burn to CD. Update while in Mac Pro.

Move SSD to new build, boot with rBoot. Run MultiBeast. Eject rBoot and remove from tray. Reboot. Enjoy new build.

Hackintosh is up and running with a test Lion installed.
Can't I just play back the TimeMachine Backup by the Migration Assistent?
Are you talking about leaving the Lion HD in the MacPro, running a TM backup and then restoring the TM to a different HD in your hackintosh build?

Never tried it that way. Might work, might not. Try it and see.

Or CCC the MacPro HD to the hack HD and re-install the hack HD in your build and run rBoot/multiBeast on it.

Worked!

1. Made a clean install
2. installed 10.7.2 Combo Update
3. installed MultiBeast
4. created new user "admin"
5. logged in with new account
6. restored my profile with the migration assistant by a TM backup
7. logged in old account
....
8. PROFIT!
