Choosing a motherboard for building a first Hachintosh

Quite correctly. As well a did mention that I'm and engineer and this new technology Intel has been developing, 3D transistors, I'm intrigued to see how it impact the performance , energy and efficiency of hole system and for that I'll need Z77.

This is incorrect. Z68 boards also support the use of Ivy Bridge processors. The only thing Z77 has over Z68 is that it has more PCI-E lanes (so you can use triple video cards with no bandwidth slow down), native USB 3.0 (which isn't supported by OSX yet) and possible thunderbolt on the highest end boards (which isn't supported by OSX yet).... so you're really gaining nothing by going Z77 at this point over a tried and true Z68.
