"/" -- sized appropriately for the distro, "primary" <-- install grub herein
swap drive -- sized appropriately for the distro

I did anyway, although I am not sure that it was required for my install using the USB thumb drive to boot up HDD partitions.
I did that primarily to get around any 4096 byte sector issues as my drive is newer.
