Hey all,
I recently acquired a Dell Port Replicator for my two M6600s with Radeon 6970M graphics cards. I'm currently working on getting the port replicator running properly, and I'm looking for a way to attach more than 2 external monitors to my Precision. In theory, this should be possible using the Port Replicator, but my issue is not with the replicator itself. The issue is with either my video card or the Framebuffer.
When I boot into OS X, DPCIManager and IORegistryExplorer both show 3 ports for the 6970M, and I've patched the framebuffer accordingly. I can get 3 monitors (internal LVDS, DisplayPort, HDMI) working properly, but because the hardware thinks there is a limit of 3 connections.
IOReg reads:
Cattail @ 0 - LVDS Internal Display
Cattail @ 1 - DisplayPort Monitor
Cattail @ 2 - HDMI Monitor
My question is, is there a way to modify the number of ports available to the video card? Changing the number of ports in Clover does not alter this, and the Cattail framebuffer has 4 ports defined, not just 3. If not, I'm pretty satisfied with two external monitors, just wondering if 3 is possible.
Thanks!
