Hi,

A few days ago i tried to update from Mohave to Catalina. I did a direct install and i seems to work until i run into the "black screen problem". I made a backup to Mohave.

Yesterday, i would like to make a second attempt. After some preparations (clean up S/L/E and L/E, rebuild the cache and updated my kexts in clover), the installer tells:

"You must be running macOS Catalina 10.15 or later to install onto this volume".

It's the normal installer which could be downloaded from the store. I wonder what changed between the attempts. Is some dump from the unsuccessful installation still on my drive? I do my backups with CCC.

Someone a clue?

I have the exact problem.
My first installation failed and I recovered back to Mojave. When I tried second attempt, I get the exact same error message "You must be running macOS Catalina 10.15 or later to install onto this volume". I have been having this for months without finding any solution.

If anyone find solution, please share it.
