Casual Kernel Panics on boot

I'm stuck

I have the very same problem on my HP Z400 workstation now. Latest Web drivers for GTX970, OS 10.10.2. Was solid for 3 weeks but now can only boot after the first couple of tries. I get a BSD reading something like:

Backtrace (CPU4)
fault CPU 0x4
Kernel extensions in backtrace:
org.netkas.driver.FAKESMC (1364.0)
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFAMILY(1.4)
com.Apple.driver.AppleSMC(3.1.9)
BSD process name corresponding to current thread: Kernel_task

Boot Args: Kext_dev_mode=1 nvda.drv=1 -v

Mac OS Version 14C109

it is not Kext_dev_mode=1 nvda.drv=1 -v, it is kext-dev-mode=1 nvda_drv=1 -v

it is not Kext_dev_mode=1 nvda.drv=1 -v, it is kext-dev-mode=1 nvda_drv=1 -v

Copy that, thanks. It was a typo but appreciate the eyes-on! Additionally, I misspoke, I'm running the new Asus GTX960 not 970.

Need coffee.

Try booting with -f. Once it is booted. Repair disk permissions and rebuild caches. Then reboot and check.

OK guys, I solved the problem!!

Actually my monitor was connected in VGA. Someone had the same exact problem on another forum and told me that switching to DVI had solved the issue. I just bought a DVI to DVI cable and no kernel panics anymore!
