Can't get sound on Realtek ALC888

My sound card is a Realtek ALC888 running latest version of Sierra (10.12.5) on an Intel Core 2 Dueo E8500 + Intel MOBO DG41TY + Nvidia 8400. I installed the

I placed the following .KEXTS into my EFI/EFI/Clover/Kexts/Others folder

and
https://github.com/vit9696/AppleALC/releases

Then from within CloverConfigurator under devices I tried changing the Audio Inject to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, 28, 29 as listed in the following link.

However, Is that all I'm supposed to do? That link seems to suggest that I need to install some recourses or something somewhere for the numbers to correlate to, but I'm at a complete loss.

Try Multibeast - Drivers - ALC888 legacy. You have to remove the kexts you mentioned.
