Can't Find My HDDs

hi m8s
i just installed my SL Retail and updated to 10.6.4
and installed multibeast as in mac man tutorial
and everything worked just fine except my HDDs is being read as an external although they aren't
and it happens with any SATA drive so i had to get an IDE drive to install sl on it
but after installing multi beast they worked ( being read by DU as external )
but after doing a software update ( Only updated iTunes and safari )
i restarted and they are all gone again and found my only IDE drive
also my ram is being read as only 4 Gb while they are 6

no one knows how to fix this problem??
i'm thinking to change my MB and get a gigabyte X58A-ud3R
do u think that it worth the 200$ ?
