Hi,

Im trying to install snow leopard on my dell inspiron 580.

I did all of the BIOS configuration steps but for some reason I cant pass through step two.

Download iBoot
Burn the image to CD
Place iBoot in CD/DVD drive
Restart computer

I get "cant find match kernel" when I select the iBoot icon or when i place the snow leopard dvd i will get the same message.

I tried searching on this forum and in Google but no luck.

Any thoughts?

I currently have:

Intel Core i3-550
4gb RAM
Integrated Intel Graphics Media
Accelerator HD
1TB Serial ATA 2 Hard Drive 7200
RPM
and my current OS is windows 7 home.

Okay after burning the DVD, hit F5 then select the Mac OS X Install Disc. Hitting F5 refreshes the drivelist for iBoot. :p

Thanks for your quick response.

I will try that and see how it goes. but the thing is i will never get a prompt or anything to insert the snow leopard disk.

So when exactly should I press F5??

I get this http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wQqG5zq3VxU/T ... /iBoot.jpg

and when i select iBoot i will get that error message.

Download iBoot
Burn the image to CD
Place iBoot in CD/DVD drive
Restart computer
At boot prompt, eject iBoot ->>>> this I never get. :silent:

Were you able to find a solution? I am getting this error post installation. I am trying to run multibeast to install custom DSDT but I am detting match kernel error.

well my solution is to get a real mac. i gave up with that error message. and nothing on this forum nor on google is providing me the solution needed.
