Boot hangs after about 10 seconds then stops and the text gets scrambled. I have tried reinstalling everything a couple of times now and this is the farthest it has progressed for me. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could try?

make sure to use a USB2.0 stick, 16GB, all try all your ports on your laptop

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried all my ports, same result. next ill try a usb 2.0 stick

I just realized I'm using a USB 2.0 stick. but it is 128GB. I have the SDCZ60-128G. Is it a problem that the size is 128GB

yes, partition it to a 16gb

So i partitioned the volume to 16gb and it is the same outcome on all ports. could it be the usb kext thats causing problems?
