I installed ML to an old SATA drive, but then cloned the partition to a new Samsung USB HD because the old drive was starting to sound like its on its last legs. I decided I only wanted to use 200GB for OSX and leave the other 800GB for an NTFS partition for backups and stuff for my main Windows machine. After partitioning the drive, I cannot even boot into Chimera anymore. Once I delete the 2nd partition, I can suddenly boot again. It doesn't matter whether the 2nd partition is HFS+, NTFS, FAT or whatever. The moment I add the 2nd partition back, I cannot get to the boot menu anymore.
Each time it starts to load showing:
boot0:GPT
boot0:done
And then immediately reboots the computer.
Even more baffling... If this drive has 2 partitions and is even connected to any USB port, Chimera won't load even trying to boot off a thumb drive or the other SATA. If this USB drive has 2 partitions, Chimera simply crashes even if I'm not trying to boot off this drive. If I boot into OSX on the SATA, THEN plug the drive in, all is well.
Anyone seen this before?
