Can not use Virtual Box Windows XP in Ventura

No they are not necessary.

No they are not necessary.

... probably skip this OC update.

Regarding macOS Ventura beta 6, am currently wrestling with issue where macOS 13 installer + OC 0.8.3 Release freezes (empty progress bar below Apple logo) on loading. The same EFI folder installs and loads macOS 12.6 fine.

Does this issue suggest any obvious problems/fixes?

Make sure Lilu.kext has been updated to the latest release, that fixed a similar issue I encountered when installing Ventura.

That was it - lilu v.1.62 - thanks for the tip!

Install and progress bar back to normal, until ...

.. after the first reboot, the display went to black (initial logo + progress bar, then black) - waited it out until the next reboot and then Apple logo and progress bar returned through next reboots. OS loading normally.

Thanks again.

Looks like tonymacx86 Support moved our posts - #11 - #15 - from Ventura Updates -> V. Box Win XP in Ventura.

Posts #8 and #10 are also misplaced.

All of these posts are unrelated to V. Box ...

.. can you move them back to Ventura Updates?

Might help OPs.

Ventura 13 Beta 22A5352e doesn't support installing or running Windows XP on Virtual Box. Tried both Virtual Box versions 6.1.30 and 6.1.38. And also tried both creating a new Windows XP vdi and importing a known working copy of Windows XP vdi. The installation process of Windows XP went fine, and the importing of Windows XP vdi also went fine. However, after the successful installation or importing, Windows XP vdi started with an error "The virtual machine 'Windows XP' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1)". The error message is below. Virtual Box Windows XP vdi runs fine on both MacOS Big Sur and Monterey. Does anyone have a solution?

As usual, VB have to be updated for every major Mac OS release. Virtual Box v7.0.0 BETA2 works for me, search for it.

I have a full set of digital technical manuals for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining an old (complex) car. The digital service manuals depend on an old version of the Internet Explorer to be viewed, which runs on Windows XP.
Have you tried to run the old version of IE in wine that can translate XP code for your hack...
