Can I use a Cloned HD?

I've got a 500 gig SSD in my work Macbook Pro... can I clone that on to another 500 gig SSD and use that for a Hackintosh??

I also think that on the Clone HD he will need to install that version of Chimera so that it will boot in the Clone....
