Can i have dual boot in the same HDD?

This is my question. I have 1 TB HDD I think that it's possible to particionate in "two" HDD of 500GB, but i dont find any guide

1. Install multiple operating systems on separate hard drives.

I think that i cant use this guide I only have one drive...
